Vor kurzer Zeit hatten wir Besuch von Simon Erath. Simon ist seit mehreren Jahren einer meiner engsten Freunde und dazu ein wahnsinnig toller Fotograf. Mir gefällt sein Stil, seine Geradlinigkeit in seiner Arbeit und seinen Fotos. Gebäude, Gegenstände, Werkzeuge, denen ich sonst keinerlei Aufmerksamkeit abverlangen würde, fängt er in einem bestimmten Blickwinkel ein und lässt sie einen anders sehen. Leider ist er von Berlin nach Krefeld gezogen und wir sehen uns nicht mehr oft, aber spätestens zu Geburtstagen besucht er uns und wir können uns auf ihn und neue Fotos freuen. Das macht immer wieder wahnsinnigen Spaß, was man Mia auf den Fotos definitiv ansieht. Er hält Mias‘ Entwicklung in seinen Aufnahmen fest und verspricht ihr ein Fotobuch zu ihrem 18. Geburtstag – sofern sie sich weiterhin regelmäßig fotografieren lässt. Es kommen ja noch so einige spezielle Phasen auf uns zu. Das ist ein Auszug aus der letzten Serie.

Some days ago one of my closest friends and great photographer Simon Erath stoped by to visit us. I love his style, his straightforwardness and clean looks. He captures buildings or materials in such a special way that you give them intention. Unfortunately he has moved from Berlin back to his hometown Krefeld and we don’t see eachother very often. Anyway he comes to see us on our birthday’s and we are happy to have him here and enjoy some coffee, cake and photoshoots together. That means always a lot of fun also for Mia as you can see on the photos below. He is regularly capturing Mia’s development and new steps and promised her a photobook when she turns 18-as long as she still wants to be photographed in the future… A few particular phases are waiting for us, as we all know. This is my favorite selection of his last series of Mia. Enjoy!
